A few days ago while I was visiting the Oklahoma Centennial Land Rush Monument in downtown Oklahoma City, I was distracted by the OKC skyline… I had just gotten out of my car at around 6:45AM and noticed how amazing the buildings looked with the sun just starting to hit them. Even though I wasn’t there to photograph the city (and truth be told I didn’t even have the right lens on the camera) I decided to grab a quick HDR of the skyline as the sun was rising.
Auto Bracketing Exposures (Canon)
Recently I’ve been posting several HDR photos across the web and, to say the least, people have be intrigued as to how I’m shooting them and how I’m processing them. Well, earlier this week I posted a video on exactly how I process an HDR shot, so today I thought I’d give you a little video on how to use Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) on your (Canon) camera. This is merely a tutorial on how to set up auto-bracketing. This is NOT meant to be an HDR how-to as there are several other key steps involved in the process. I just wanted to take a minute and show you how to do this because so many people had said that they have a DSLR but were unsure on how to set this up.
Sunrise Charge
This morning I woke up early so that I could go out and shoot some photos before we make the big move from Oklahoma City back to Kentucky. I drove around the city for a while before actually deciding on a location. For some reason I love the Oklahoma Centennial Land Rush Monument in downtown OKC, so naturally I gravitated towards it for this shoot. I arrived about 30 minutes prior to sunrise and quickly snapped a few HDR shots of the OKC skyline, then it was up the small staircase to the monument.
The Dome
The “Gold Dome” in Oklahoma City is a pretty neat little structure… I call it “Little Epcot” but the locals know it as a business center in the mid-town area. I’ve driven past this thing dozens of times, but never really gave it a second thought until today. As my wife and I were driving by I noticed a break in the gloomy weather (which is ever-prevalent here in OKC these days) and I just had to photograph it!
